Having a naturally glowing face is something that is highly envied today. But it’s not actually too hard to achieve. And buying expensive face masks that only last so long, when you might just have the answer to getting that glowing, radiant skin, right in your home.
People underestimate how important staying hydrated is, not just for skin, but also for a healthy body and happy mind! Drinking plenty of water helps retain the moisture in your face, to give it a more radiant and supple glow.
So if you want to do the most natural thing to get good skin, ditch the energy drinks and juices, and just drink water!
As a personal point, I don’t enjoy drinking plain water all of the time, so try some flavored waters to stay hydrated but also keep your taste buds happy!
Home Made Masks
There are thousands of home made mask recipes out there, using things right out of the cupboard. Here are a few that will help you get the perfect looking skin!
1. Lemon & Honey Mask
Try a lemon and honey face mask! Both of these products have natural bleaching properties and give your face a wonderful sheen to it. Mix together lemon juice and honey together in equal parts until completely combined and smooth. You may have a little difficulty with this due to the stickiness of the honey and if you have longer hair, you may want to pin it back to avoid getting honey all in it. Leave for 15-20 minutes, just wash it off and have instant glowing skin!
2. Papaya and Olive Oil
Olive oil is extremely hydrating (and doesn’t leave an oily residue once you wash it off your face!) and papayas are also hydrating and helps clear up skin, as well as reducing wrinkles. Mash a piece of papaya with a fork and mix in enough oil to turn it into a good consistency. Moisten your face and apply, leave for 15 minutes and wash off thoroughly with cold water.
3. Green Apple
Just rub the pulp of green apple pulp on your skin, not only does this make it glow, it also improves circulation.
Mix sugar, lemon juice and a few drops of olive oil together and use it to exfoliate your face. The sugar will remove the dead skin cells as well as remove blockages in your pores, lemon juice naturally bleaches the skin and olive oil moisturizes.
Mix some milk with some lemon juice (optional: a pinch of turmeric powder, which improves circulation) and massage this mixture onto your face and neck to be left with moisturized, glowing skin. You don’t have to wash this off, but it doesn’t minimize the effects if your do (the smell of milk on my face all day doesn’t appeal to me too much).
Other products amazing for the skin:
- Tomato pulp
These are just a few different ways to gain wonderful, glowing skin. You can mix and match ingredient from these recipes to create your own personal mask for specific purposes that your skin needs! At home recipes as far more cost effective and something that isn’t time consuming!
