Home Remedies For Healthy Skin

We all want radiant skin. The surest way to get this without extreme consequences is by doing it at home. It is rare for you to go wrong with natural products. Unlike commercial products which may react with your skin in a way that was not expected and make you ugly!

All you wanted was to look beautiful and have baby soft skin. Hope is not lost though. There are a lot of natural solutions to help you get the healthy skin you desire. The following suggestions are tested and proven to work.

  1. Coffee and coconut oil body scrub – What you need to make this body scrub is: coarsely grounded coffee, salt, unrefined coconut oil and vanilla extract. Of course you will need a place to mix your ingredients in and something to mix with, whatever you choose so long as the job is done. Mix the salt and the coffee first followed by the oil then the vanilla extract. Store your body scrub in the fridge or the bathroom. You would however, need to use it within a couple months since it doesn’t have preservatives. Besides, you can make more whenever you want.
  2. Honey and cinnamon – This is a personal favorite of mine. I use it as facial scrub. I do not follow any procedure in mixing. Put what you think is enough for you then apply to your face when satisfied with the mixed proportions. You can use it immediately. And store the rest at a cool dry area, not necessarily in the fridge.
  3. Facial masks – They help moisturize and cleanse your skin. there are a number of ways to get home made facial masks. My best is one with 1 avocado, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon honey and 2 tablespoons yogurt (vanilla or plain). When my skin feels tired I use a different recipe: juice of 1 lemon mixed with 1 tablespoon olive oil and two tablespoons of sugar; leaves me feeling refreshed and moisturized.
  4. Blackheads – I don’t know anyone who hasn’t had a problem with these. There is a way to get rid of them at home and it works fast. You only need lemon, sugar and honey. Cut the lemon into two halves, pour a reasonable amount of honey on the lemon and a bit of sugar and rub on the area with the blackheads. Easy right?

Getting healthy skin should not be the only aim. Maintaining it should be your goal too. Drinking water, avoiding the sun, eating healthy food, eat nutritious foods and fruits and keep off fatty foods it will show on your skin. Do not sleep with make up on, detoxify every now and then, try to minimize the number of things that may stress you and work out! Let your body sweat. Sweat is a way for the body to get rid of the dirt underneath the skin therefore a good thing.

There are a million concoctions that can help us achieve the goals we set for our skins we just have to get creative in the kitchen and see what works for us.
